My first thought: we'll see how long I'll be able to keep this up. I've never been a very disciplined about writing in a diary, this seems roughly equivalent. However, I'm newly addicted to the medical blogs, and wanted to try my hand a creating a witty, intelligent, thought-provoking read for other blogopaths out there. No pressure.
Truth be told, I've always wanted to write a book. Maybe this will be my first foray in authorship.
I'm relatively new to medicine, been in the biz about 3 years. I'm a family doc, and work for an FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center). I make less money than I would in private practice, but I also have lower blood pressure than most other docs - all the angst about reimbursement, medicare payments, GD insurance companies, etc is essentially of casual interest to me, but doesn't affect my bread and butter. But I would like to say thanks to all the docs out there fighting the good fight.
And don't forget your HCTZ.
I'll be here, waiting for wit to happen upon me.
